What Is The yoga wall?
The principle behind the Yoga Wall has been around for decades, originating with Yoga Kurunta, where students used wall ropes to allow the body to be suspended as well as supported and be able to create different postures without injury. The practice allowed freedom of movement, stability, flexibility, and body awareness.
BKS Iyengar popularized the use of props to enhance students’ practice. He developed a wide range of asana variations using wall ropes. Aadil Palkhivala took this rope system and transformed it to The Great Yoga Wall™.
Kedric Wolfe designed a newer version of The Great Yoga Wall™ with a system of adjustable straps and more comfortable pelvic swings to accommodate every unique body type. He developed the Wall Plates (spring loaded socket that receives the ball of the other components) which are the foundation of the Yoga Wall system. There are hundreds of poses that can be practiced with the help of the Yoga Wall system.
